Become an Oficial Paragliding Pilot

Why learn paragliding with us?

To begin with, we are the only Official Paragliding School in Malaga that has been training pilots for over 13 years. Part of our team has more than 25 years experience.

You will find schools that have only one instructor to do everything: take off, guide you, and land. At Air Born, we make sure you have one instructor to take off and another to land on your first flights.

You will learn about paragliding equipment, how to control the movements of the paraglider wing on the ground (ground handling), and after practicing taking off and landing several times on a small hill, you will perform two guided high-altitude flights (by radio) with two instructors (one for takeoff and one for landing).

DURATION: At your own pace (normally takes between 4-6 days)

OBJECTIVE: To perform two high-altitude flights (300-600 meters) guided by radio with the instructor. Pass the theoretical and practical exams.

  • Equipment recognition and flight equipment
  • Aerodynamics
  • Meteorology
  • Regulations
  • Safety

  • 1st STAGE: Equipment preparation. Practice of sail inflation and paraglider control
  • 2nd STAGE: Takeoff and landing practices. Gliding.
  • 3rd STAGE: High altitude flights. Approach maneuvers.
  • All necessary equipment (paraglider, harness, helmet, radio, etc.).
  • Theoretical and practical instruction.
  • Liability insurance.
  • Certification upon completion of the course

Upon completion of the course, you will be eligible to obtain the first certification to become an official PARAGLIDING CLUB PILOT (D1).

You will learn essential maneuvers to achieve a full and safe flight. You will be able to reach the level required to perform high-altitude flights, taking advantage of dynamic lift conditions. You will be able to fly solo and can be registered with the FEADA (Andalusian Federation of Air Sports) as a Paragliding Club Pilot.

DURATION: At your own pace (usually between 8-10 days)

Complete 12 high-altitude flights. Provide the pilot with progressive autonomy so that by the end of the course they are capable of performing tasks without the monitor’s intervention.
